My Glitz Family

I think fate, karma, kismet or whatever term you use for the random happening that seems to change your life is still working for me.

About a year or two ago I was working at the clinic that I do my "day job" with when a solicitor (they are strictly forbidden in our office) came in to offer a hair services coupon. For a minimal fee, I could have about 20 things done to my hair over the course of a year. When you added it up.. it was a STEAL! So I signed up before the boss noticed a peddler in the lobby.

That day has indeed changed my life.

I walked in about 2 days later to the Glitz Salon on Baldwin Rd. I was assigned to a beautiful girl whose name was just about mine! Lauren. She wore a great smile and a cool retro cut to her hair. We did some highlights and I was impressed! I went back over and over and had many different things done. One afternoon I was in her chair for a long session and I kinda started to "read" her and her family. Not really meaning to mind you! I don't typically start telling people that their brother looks like this.. and he is in a band and he plays something with keys and strings, etc, etc. But I just felt comfortable with her.

She decided to have me as "entertainment" for her upcoming bachelorette party. It was going to be my first real gig. For real money. I was so nervous.

As it turned out, everyone loved my accuracy! Referrals POURED in, and Glitz became my 2nd family!
